Ease of Use
The Vitamix 1782 is a two-speed blender that has put both versatility and efficiency at the forefront of its design. Considering that it can process whole fruits and vegetables without the need to chop them up first, one of the best aspects of the 1782 is the way in which it significantly cuts down on prep time. Not to mention that all the nutrients are kept in tact in the process.
All this is achieved thanks to the powerful 2-HP motor, which propels the 3-inch blades up to a staggering 240mph and has the added benefit of not overheating when running for extended periods of time, in addition to being able to blend hard, thick ingredients such as nuts or frozen produce both quickly and easily.
The Vitamix 1782 also comes with a 64-ounce Tritan copolyester container, which is both tough and durable, large enough to be used for family meals and social gatherings, and perhaps most importantly BPA-free; as well as a locking lid and recipe book.
The Vitamix can be used for a wide range of purposes, including chopping, blending, creaming, grinding, heating, as well as churning, to name just a few, thereby allowing you to make anything, from smoothies and hot soups to frozen desserts.
The unit is also easy to clean, as all that is required is a drop of dish soap and warm water, and is backed by a generous 5-year warranty.
The reviews for the Vitamix 1782 have been very good. It currently has an average rating of 4.6 out of 5 from over 80 reviews.
While a number of people conceded that the Vitamix is on the expensive side, the vast majority thought that the high price tag was justified, particularly it can be used for purposes that “you can’t even consider with a regular blender or food processor.” This seems to hold true with all Vitamix blenders, take a look at the Vitamix 1732, for example.
The unit’s power seems to be its best aspect, as it ensures that everything you want blended is done in a matter of seconds, with one user having stated that grinding some nuts to powder “took just seconds;” while another said that it’s able to “completely liquify solid vegetables and fruit in just seconds.” According to one user, the Vitamix can even “grind steak and chicken with the bone on!!”
Many people seem to appreciate the generous 5-year warranty, as it gives them peace of mind in the unlikely event that the Vitamix fails. It’s also worth mentioning that those who use the blender multiple times a day are very happy with the Vitamix’s build quality and durability.
However, the fact that the recipe book is mainly focused on fruity, sweet drink, seems to have disappointed a few people. One person said that his Vitamix has a tendency to “jam from time to time.” While a couple of people would’ve liked to have had more control over the blending process, as there are only two speed settings to choose from.
